A 4-year Starter at Idaho State University, Hailey helped lead the Bengals to 3 back-to-back conference championships, also taking home conference POY in 2014.

After her college career, Hailey continued coaching at the Division 1 level for Wichita State, and Saint Francis University, earning NCAA regional births at both schools. She also continued playing for her home country, New Zealand, through the 2020 Olympic Trials. 

She started Hailey Breakwell Performance in 2020 and has grown it into a thriving business. She is passionate about empowering girls in sport while giving back to the game that has given her so much.

mindy scott

Mindy started her travel softball career with California Blue Steal where she demonstrated leadership and skill, helping her team achieve notable successes such as numerous ASA National Tournament appearances and a NSA West Coast World Series Championship. Joining the 18U Sorcerers at 14 years old, Mindy gained valuable experience at an elite level, contributing to two ASA National Tournament appearances.

Her collegiate career began at Midland College, where she earned recognition as an NJCAA Region V All-American and leading her team to the NJCAA Division I World Series. From multiple DI offers, Mindy chose the University of Mobile (UM) for a full athletic scholarship. Despite a shoulder injury that impacted her career, Mindy persevered and earned an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention, a testament to her dedication and skill.

As a pitching coach, Mindy focuses on the essential aspects of pitching—spin, mechanics, and mental approach—helping young athletes not only develop their skills but their confidence. Her journey from player to coach reflects her passion for softball and her ability to inspire and guide the next generation of players. Mindy is also the co-head coach of the 12U Athletics Mercado Scott-Maun.

Catalina received an NCAA Division II softball scholarship to catch for Ohio Valley University in Vienna, WV. She is currently a head coach and organization head of the Bay Area Batbusters Buenrostro.

Ryann is a junior pitcher at UC Berkeley, previously earning Big Ten All-Freshman Honors during her freshman year at Rutgers University. She has also been recognized as a 2022 PGF All American. Ryann will be sharing her expertise and experience by giving lessons at our softball facility.

Lagi is a sophomore catcher at UC Berkeley. In her freshman year she was the Co-Homerun Champion of the Pac-12. She earned All-American honors, All-Conference Freshman Team and First Team All-Region.

Claudia is a former Division I softball pitcher for UC Santa Barbara. With a focus on fundamentals, she specializes in speed, movement, and mechanics to help players refine their skills and become more effective in the circle. Whether you’re looking to improve your control, develop better movement, or enhance overall performance, Claudia is dedicated to helping you take your pitching to the next level.

camille rodriguez

Camille received an athletic scholarship to attend and play softball for Sonoma State University, where she pitched for all 4 years. While in the circle at Sonoma (2018-2022), she earned All West-Region honors, All-Conference honors, All Conference Pitcher of the Week honors, All-Tournament Team honors, and 2 CCAA Tournament Championships in 2018 and 2022. She finished her senior year in the top 5 lowest ERA in the CCAA conference with a 1.96 ERA. Rodriguez graduated cum laude from SSU with her Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology in 2022. Camille is currently pursuing a doctorate in Occupational Therapy while continuing her passion for coaching.

Michael, a native of Alameda, California, has always lived and breathed baseball. As a player, he took on pivotal roles as a pitcher, shortstop and center fielder, demonstrating skill, focus, and resilience—qualities he now instills in the next generation. Before founding Ballerz Baseball Academy, Michael built a successful career in sales and as a GM in the fitness industry, developing the leadership and communication skills that he now brings to coaching.

Michael’s coaching journey began with his daughter’s softball teams, where he coached for Strike Zone, Blitz, and Batbusters. Passionate about fostering both athletic and personal growth, he emphasizes mental well-being alongside skill development. His approach goes beyond physical training, helping players build confidence, focus, and resilience on and off the field.

In 2021, after experiencing a life-changing heart attack, Michael followed his lifelong dream to create Ballerz Academy. Driven by the desire to make a lasting impact, he founded Ballerz to provide young athletes with top-tier training, mentorship, and life skills. Through Ballerz, Michael is committed to helping players not only excel in the game but also grow as individuals, becoming confident, well-rounded athletes with a solid foundation for life.
